StompCharms Application Instructions

For best results, please read and follow all steps before installation. Proper preparation and cure time are essential for long-term adhesion and performance.

Items Needed

  • Rubbing alcohol

  • Clean cloth or paper towel

  • Warm indoor space (room temperature)

  • Optional: hair dryer (low setting, for board surface only)

  • Flat, heavy object (book, weight, or shoe)

Step-by-Step Application Instructions

Step 1 — Clean the Surface
Thoroughly clean the area where you plan to place your StompCharm using rubbing alcohol. Remove all wax, dirt, and oils.
Allow the surface to fully dry and do not touch it after cleaning.

Step 2 — Test Placement
Before removing the adhesive backing, place the StompCharm on the board to confirm positioning.
Ensure it does not interfere with bindings or hardware.
Adhesive is single-use — once placed, do not peel or reposition.

Step 3 — Gently Warm the Board (Optional)
If your board is cold, gently warm the board surface only using a hair dryer on low for a few seconds.
⚠️ Do NOT heat the StompCharm itself. Excess heat can weaken the adhesive and reduce long-term bond strength.

Step 4 — Apply
Peel off the adhesive backing and place the StompCharm onto the board.
Press firmly from the center outward to ensure full contact and remove air pockets.

Step 5 — Press & Hold
Apply strong, even pressure and hold for 30–60 seconds.

Step 6 — Weight & Cure (Important)
Place a flat, heavy object directly on top of the StompCharm to maintain pressure.
Allow the adhesive to cure for a full 72 hours at room temperature before riding.

Step 7 — Ride
Once fully cured, ride as normal. Avoid prying, twisting, or scraping the edges.

Care & Longevity

StompCharms are designed to handle real riding conditions when properly installed and cured.

  • Always allow the full 72-hour cure time before riding

  • Avoid prying, twisting, or picking at the edges

  • Normal winter riding temperatures are safe once fully cured

  • Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme heat (hot cars, heaters)

  • Clean around the charm gently — do not scrape directly against the edges

Troubleshooting

Edges lifting or peeling

  • Surface may not have been fully cleaned or dry

  • Board may have been cold during installation

  • Press firmly again for 30–60 seconds, place weight on top, and allow full cure time

StompCharm fell off
This is most commonly caused by:

  • Cold board during installation

  • Wax, residue, or moisture left on the surface

  • Heating the StompCharm or adhesive directly

  • Riding before the full 72-hour cure was complete

Charm feels loose after riding

  • Confirm the charm fully cured before use

  • Avoid prying, twisting, or scraping the edges

  • Prolonged exposure to extreme heat can weaken adhesive

Cold-weather concerns
Once fully cured, StompCharms are designed to perform in normal winter riding conditions.
Most adhesion issues occur during installation, not while riding.
